I noticed the goverment switch in one turn is no longer possible as it was in civ3 original. now it is 4-8 turns.

is there a way to make sure it is 4 turns and not 8 or so ?

8 turns is totally completely rediculous by the way.
It is ok they solve the abuse of 1 turn gov switches, but more than 4 turns is unbearable.
By the time i have a new government, all buildings are destroyed by rioting civilians.

The only way to have 1 turn anarchy is (and always was i think) to be religius, or to be really REALLY lucky.

Oh.....sorry i dont have C3C :(

ok...

in old civ3 there were set years at wich you could get your new government (forgot the name people used for that on this forum)
You just needed to know when those years were and start your revolution the turn before such a year.

in conquests, it is 4-8 turns normally and 1-2 for religious. it seems to be really random to me. I ask this question here to get to know more about this randomnes and how it can be influenced

That is why you have to keep them happy by turning the rioters into entertainers until the happy outnumber the unhappy.

Which is quite a bit of a hassle when you have a large empire and that you will have to do it again once you have chosen a new government. Its something I dread about the game...

then they wont have enough food and i will lose people.
espescially the cities that were not originally mine are hard enough to keep happy already without anarchy. (and no, playing a lower difficulty is not an option. my ego can't handle that)

Well you dont think you can just strawl from one goverment to another without any consequences......thats why they call it a revolution ;)

P.S. building granaries can help you with this one if they have enough stored food.

You can just check "manage citizen moods" in the governer, and set it civ-wide... that will do it automatically.

Better to lose a couple citizens than the entire town! :die:

Totally agree, a city will grow again much quicker than it will be to replace all your buildings...

@ jalapeno_dude - Thanks for the advice.
