This might just be another unbalanced feature..
I've discovered that there is close to NO use (or less) switching from monarcy in emperor-games.
Even in an highly advanced civ with large cities, changing from Monarcy to Democracy/Republic gives you :
1: More expensive science
2: More corruption (seen this a few times. dont know why)
3: Higher maintainance
4: Unhappier cities.
You DO get more income, but at the end you always seem to still end up with loosing money while you had a +50 surpluss in Monarcy.
So.. effects of switching :
1: More unhappiness (as units doesnt any longer give u happyfaces)
2: Less money.. (100-150 diffrence.)
My question would be:
Is this normal? It cant be supposed to be like this, right?
As of right now, I see NO reason to switch government =(
