Goz4 - S.c.r.a.p (c3c-1.22)

Dutch have an island-city and it possibly got some future resource, I didn't even check what it got now.

Btw, Germans are without saltpeter as we took both their sources. We're roading, so cavs should be online when we learn the tech.

It will be some fun stuff in 2 turns, just start rushing them cavalries with gold.

I wonder if this will come back to me, cavs will trash the Sumerians, regulars or not.

Tinkez is up
bed_head wants it, but have to wait for a response from Tinkez ;)

Great progress Gozpel! :goodjob:

I'll play my 10 turns tonight after work, turnlog in ~13hrs.

Let's see if I can leave some nice game finishing opportunity to Bed_Head7... :D

Did I sound that anxious? You're right, I do get excited towards the end of the game, but I thought I did an okay job of hiding it. I guess not.

Well Bed_Head7, you want to steamroll over the finishing line, be my guest ;) :

SAVE THAT NEEDS FINISHING

The turnlog from my 10 turns:

Pre-Turn:

Looking GOOD! So much purple on the mini-map...we have 44% of land area and 52% of world population. This should be easy going.

IT:

Germans build Sistine chapel for us. That's nice, we just don't have any cathedrals ;)

360AD(1):

We capture Berlin with the Chapel. Unfortunately those spears kill 2 of our knights which were too stupid to retreat...Luckily those were reg knights and we promote one knight while taking the city.

IT:

Militrady tradition comes in. Saltpeter is not yet hooked up, but will be next turn. I turn research off to get money for troops.
Sumers finish Leonardo's workshop.

370AD(2):

We capture Nuremberg without losses.

380AD(3):

Saltpeter is hooked up, change all knight production to cavalrys. Rush some with all available gold and get 6 cavalries next turn.
Move knights next to Hamburg, the last German outpost. It should fall next turn.

Start psychological warfare:
SUMERIANS!! We're gonna roll over you. Knock knock! Better flee now! :D

390AD(4):

Hamburg falls along the German civilization. We lose one knight in the progress.

400AD(5):

Progress report:
Land area 50%
Population 54%

Declare on Sumeria.

Move forces over the border and attack Erch. We lose 1 cavalry and 2 knights in the progress, but take the city.

IT:

No movement from Sumeria, only one archer appears.

410AD(6):

Attack Umma, but can't take the city with 4 knights, they retreat and 1 loses. All that's left is one defending REDLINED musket + a LB.

420AD(7):

Move reinforcements to Umma, that city will fall soon as our scattered forces from all over the country are in the Sumerian lands.
Kill 3 MI and 1 LB in Erch front without casulties and manage to promote 2 cavalry to veterans.

430AD(8):

Ok, let's take safely then: 8knights and 5 trebuchet's are now next to Umma. Let's see what happens next turn?!?!?

440AD(9):

Umma falls to us without casulties. We even gain one elite knight in the process.

450AD(10):

Gather some nice attacking force for Bed_Head7. Have fun, it's very straight forward all the way to end. I think you should be able to finish the game during your turns.

We'll have heroic epic next turn, maybe you can even get a leader to speed the process.

Well, unless I get through some other games faster, I probably won't be able to play until Saturday morning I think. I may have bitten off more than I can chew both in terms of SGs and school work.

Nicely done Tinkez! You show a lot of skill there, mate. You should play more GOTM/COTM.

I'm in no hurry to grab another save right now, so you take your turns when you can, bed_head.

Just be sure to finish this off :)

Will post in the next hour or two. I almost finished last night, but had to go to work, and then had SAT this morning. And then post-SAT nap.

460 AD (1) - Lagash well defend, and two cavs die, but it is captured. Agade captured as well, though an elite knight unfortunately fell to 2/4 hp musket without inflicting damage or retreating. End turn report: 54% land, 61% pop

470 AD (2) - Attacking Ur, for some reason nothing retreats at all.

480 AD (3) - Isin captured, Ur weakened further.

490 AD (4) - Ur and Bad-Tibira captured, movement towards Dutch capital. 56% land, 65% pop

500 AD (5) - Not too much.

510 AD (6) - Declare on Carthage. 61% land, 67% pop

520 AD (7) - Sumer razed (it had Sun Tzu's). I've started automating workers. I have to go to work in about a half hour, and I think I can hit the domination limit by the end of my turns.

530 AD (8) - Made peace with Sumer for an island city. Kish, their capital and last continental holding, would have been a tough nut to crack. No reason to continue war with the Dutch either, who pay 14 gold. Had to leave, and forgot to save, so I try to recreate this turn.

Lots of captured cities, wasn't so into writing it all out. But, all you have to do is hit space, gozpel. You'll notice lots of units with no moves, that didn't move. I didn't really feel like moving them all for no reason.

Save - Last Turn

Nice job Bed_Head7! :goodjob: :king:

Thank you guys for a good game, it was fun! Good thing that we managed to pull this to the end even though some people dropped out!

Look forward to play with you in the future too!

Well done guys, look at the finishing date! :wow:

This is a great date, considering no barracks! Obviously we set our priorities right and managed to win this easily. I have to laugh, when I look at all the non-developed tiles we have in our territory. This gives me a thought, that domination doesn't have to be done with well micromanaged areas.

Let me remind you, this was Emperor!

Thanks dudes, for sticking out til the end! :thumbsup: [dance]

It isn't over yet! We have to see the warrior hit the thingy and tell us how magnificent we are! And our score, and the all of the civs we beat into the ground complaining and making excuses, and the personal HoF entry, and, and, and...

I really enjoyed this game, despite the difficulties, and will echo what Tinkez said and say I'd be happy to play again with those that actually played.

Fix the screenies bed_head and I consider you in my next game ;)

I'm busy RL right now and only check in here when I have a break.

But a new game wouldn't hurt, maybe by the weekend or something. Keep on posting if you're interested to join.

I'll do that tomorrow then. I was trying to give you the honor of being the one to see the victory screen and such. This is your game, after all.

As far as next game, I have been trying to figure out the details on an Emperor or Demigod level game with the English, with a small mod or two. Like no ironclads, and hidden nationality for Men-O-War. The goal would be to fully take advantage of all of the wonderful traits of the English, especially cheap commercial docks. Like maybe a space race victory, but no research labs allowed or something. Anyway, the goal would be to see just how powerful the English economy can be come the Industrial and Modern Age. The English are my favorite, or should I say favourite, and I have not seen a single game in the SG forum in the last few months with the English other than the Napoleonic Era one, so I'd like to get one going sometime soon.

I know we've all seen them whenever we finish a game, but I had to do it to make the game officially over. Off topic, is my SG idea at all interesting?

Nice job :)

Hmm, I just signed up in a SG with the English and next GOTM is England too.

Can you think of another civ for now and we can have the english game for a later date?

Korea, America or Spain, to pick some of the "weaker" civs?

I did notice that an English SG popped up immediately after I said I hadn't seen one in four months here. But mine would definitely have to be England, to explore the UU and try to get as much out of what can be the most powerful commercial civilization.

Edit: And I wasn't necessarily asking if you were interested, just if you thought there might be interest. The point about GOTM36 is a good one, though.

@Bed_Head7: There is still running a game with English, target is going to the space, without research, ever! See:

Jumpmasters 1A : Buying a Stairway to Heaven

I played in that game for a long time, but for some reason the save stopped co-operating with my computer. Maybe it just came too large for my old machine... :confused:

I'm not going to start an other normal SG for a while, I downloaded the Rise and Rule mod (see completed modpacks), and that is excellent. Brings civ back to life, in my opinion. I've reached the limit of normal c3c for a while and unfortunately I tried that and I'M SOLD!

I would be willing to start a SG with that mod, if you've tried that and are interested?

I completely forgot about that one. I am a silver wing in Jumpmasters 1C. Perhaps I could use the Rise and Rule mod. I haven't thoroughly checked it out yet.
