Goz4 - S.c.r.a.p (c3c-1.22)

we can't investigate while at war. We could take tabriz and others while we wait? (leave them with 1 other city on the mainland so we can get the iron island for peace) When there is nothing available then I reckon just take it whether pyramids is finished or not.

Okay, this is a figurative "got it." I am online on one computer while civ (finishing up COTM4) is running on the other, so the save isn't actually on any computer.

@Bed_head7: When you start, remember that you have fortified units with movement points left next to Karakorum. Take the city and forget the pyramids as the majority of the team agreed.

Hope none of you all mind, but this probably won't be played until Friday night or Saturday morning, at GMT+8 (Western U.S.). But this brings up a question for me. For 24hr got it and 48hr plays, is that cumulative?

If you're cheeky, you wait 23.58hrs after last player posted the save, then you have another 48 hrs to complete your turns. That adds up to 72 hrs. :) I'm no hardass when it comes to it though, half a day here or there doesn't matter much, as long as it keeps on going.

550 BC (100) - MM Salamanca so it gets Hanging Gardens in the same time, but Invention drops from 11 to 9. Outside Karakorum, Pringles is retreated, but SnugglePus gets sent in and Karakorum is ours.

530 BC (101) - Chondote founded in the ruins of something. We have a settler in the middle of the desert, and I have no idea where it is going.

IT - Carthage demands Republic, I told him to bring it on, and he backed down. Pyramids completed in Ur, and the Spanish cascade to the Great Lighthouse. Archer kills a warrior, I don't know which

510 BC (102) - Attack Ta-Tu, and move towards Tabriz, though I lost an archer to the archer that killed the warrior.

IT - Netherlands cascades to Hanging Gardens. Mausoleum is also taken. I move to Sun Tzu's as a prebuild for Sistine's Chapel or Bach's if we can get there fast enough.

490 BC (103) - I screwed up, and attacked Ta-Tu first. Of course the capital then became Tabriz, and I couldn't safely take it. So Hovd and Ulaanbatar become Iroquis peacefully, and our first war is over. I am not sure where to head with our troops. Northeast to England to take out a potential thorn in our side? South to punish Carthage was considered for half a second before remebering Numidian Mercenaries. So to England.

IT - We must have lost war happiness, which I hadn't considered. All our size 7 cities riot. Oops.

470 BC (104) - Not much.

450 BC (105) - Hurry a settler in Karakorum. I know the first citizen will be Mongol, but they are even smaller than us culturally so I doubt it will be a problem. I also want to make sure we claim the dyes to the south quickly so we can lower luxury tax and make those markets more useful.

IT - Hmm. The English have Fuedalism, but I don't think they have iron.

430 BC (106) - Dunno.

410 BC (107) - Founded Ganogeh, we now have dyes. Hoping to get an elite attacking a barb on a mountain with a veteran swordsmen, and instead the sword dies. Paavo finishes off the barb camp though for 25 gold.

IT - I know Gunpowder is the better choice for staying ahead and it is unresearchable by anyone else, but I am going for Theology so that we can build Sistine's.

390 BC (108) - Nope.

IT - Sumeria gets Invention.

370 BC (109) - I consider declaring on England, then remember that that would be a no-no with only a turn more left. But if that is the decision someone wants to make, there are some MW at the ready. We could use some Trebs though.

350 BC (110) - Lots of stuff to throw at the English. I am thinking that for this variant, Militiristic would actually be really useful, as strange as that sounds. We would more than make up for not being able to take advantage of the cheap barracks with faster upgrades. We have only a few vets and no elites. By the way, I had to disband a swordsman a couple turns in because it was unnamed. Oh, and I also think we should get a couple of settler to fill in some gaps. I didn't do that and I should have, but I didn't want to take pop points off while in the GA. I think there are two in production, one in Karakorum and one in Tyendaga.

Umm, for some reason the insert hyperlinks or images, but the save and a picture of the units near the English border are in the uploads folder.

Just because I'm so damn helpful...:D

Nice progress and the mini-map is showing lot of purple. Time for Lizzy and incense.

I got it.

And thanks Sesn :)

Pre-turn - We are in GA and all cities are in great order. I change 2 builds, Akwesasne from temple to court and our island city Hovd from pike to harbor, because of its iron.

See some settler-pairs going for the holes near former Mongol lands and change Mauch Chunk to settler, due next turn. Niagara Falls rush a worker for 80g and switch to settler due next turn too.

Salamanca is building Sun Tzu, prebuild for Sistines.

Diplo reveals nothing of interest, only that England have got 6 cities. We can't declare yet, we have a galley in english territory.

330bc - Niagara Falls settler -> MI
Grand River MW -> MW
Atlantus market -> treb
Mauch Chunk settler -> MI

We declare on England and move in troops.

310bc - Carthage completes the Great Wall, other civs starts Sun Tzu and Leo's.

Kahnawake MI -> MI

Paavo 3/4 kills a stray english archer.

Assault on Hastings:
Pommi1 takes off a hp of elite spear
ElbowGrease retreats
Pringles dies doing 1 hp damage
EagleEye dies too doing a hp damage on reg spear. Retreat you morons!
Earwax retreats doing nothing
Egomaniac retreats doing nothing
Elvis 2/4 finally kills a reg spear and promotes to vet.
Scooter 1/3 kills 3/5 spear
Eddie kills reg archer and take the city.

290bc - GA ends.

Rush worker in Hastings for 32g
Rush settler in Tyndenaga for 28g

270bc - Grand River MW -> MI
Oil Springs market -> MI
Ulaanbaatar spear -> worker
Tyendenaga settler -> MI
Oka MI -> harbor
Hastings worker -> treb

Gayaga founded -> worker
Gewauga founded -> worker

250bc - Niagara Falls MI -> MI
Chondote treb -> worker

Geramny knows Theology, we learn it next turn, so no reason to give away invention. They'll probably trade for it anyways.

Paavo kills stray archer flawlessly

Move stack next to London

230bc - We learn Theology -> Chivalry in 8t.

Gandasetaigon galley -> worker

Dutch units are looking suspicious and we're badly protected on the other front. Move some units around.

Assault on London:
Elvis retreats doing nothing against reg spear
Emiliano take off 1 hp and retreats
Scooter dies doing nothing except promoting the reg spear
Snugglepus kills the vet spear without damage
Emmanuel dies doing nothing
Enzyme dies taking off 3hp of vet spear
Spratcho kills reg spear
Sputnik kills the remaining hurt spear and take the city, with Temple of Artemis! And 2 workers.

Egomaniac capture settler pair

Lizzy doesn't want to give up any cities for peace, we can wait.

210bc - Right, Dutch move some units into our territory and England got 4 archers next to London.

Allegheny MI -> MI
Atlantus treb -> MI
Mauch Chunk MI -> MI
Centralia MI -> MI
Ganogeh worker -> treb

SnugglePus 1/3 kills archer
Sputnik 2/3 kills archer
Elbowgrease 1/3 kills archer
StiffLip 2/3 kills archer

Goigo is founded between Hastings and London to claim all 3 incense -> worker

Sumeria knows Chivalry, but wants Theo and 34 gpt. I'll wait.

190bc - Dutch declare war on us and immediately kills off the spear in Ulaan

Akwasasne court -> MI

Warhappiness let us lower luxtax to zero.

I call up Bismarch to see what he can give for Invention. We get Literature, 13gpt and 74g, I throw in alliance against dutch and he agrees. :)

We'll probably lose Ulaanbaatar, but other cities are getting protection, so it's no big deal. And with Dutch fighting 2-front war, we can start to assemble a dutch taskforce.

I see 2 Carthagian warriors next to the dutch units and invites them to the war for Invention.

Science to 90% and Chivalry in 4 turns.

170bc - Dutch attack the carthage warriors and we can possibly save Ulaanbaatar.

Sumeria starts Knights Templar.

An english archer is close to Mauch Chunk and Akwesasne, so I rush 2 MW's for 90g.

Niagara Falls MI -> MI
Grand River MI -> MI
Cawaga treb -> worker

Paavo kills a dutch warrior and promotes to elite!
SalliBob 2/4 kills archer
Slocum 2/4 kills elite warrior

Move 9 MW's next to Nottingham

150bc - SalliBob dies IT, we defend against archer at Nottingham.

Tyendenaga and Mauch Chunk MW'S -> MI
Chondote worker -> MI

Assault on Nottingham:
Emiliano 2/3 kills reg spear
Sputnik kills reg spear and take the city

StiffLip kills archer and promotes to vet
Spratcho kills another archer

Send 10 units to take on York next turn

Paavo kills archer and so does Schmuck

I think we should take out the English cities to the NE and if we're alright with units take the rest.

Chivalry in 2 turns, so do we want Knight's Templar instead of Sistines? I don't think we will build too many cathedrals and a few free units might be better, and to deny that to a future enemy. But we would lose a bunch of shields if we switched.

Major border expansions next turn, due to ToA.

Nemesis is up

London can rush a settler for 100 or something gold to fill in. And we could use a few more settlers for open spots and by the coast. But the wars are on, so you can use your common sense :)

Well, my personal preference is almost always going to be Sistine's Chapel, just because I am not particularly impressed with crusaders and Sistine's Chapel lasts the whole game.

The game won't last the whole game :lol:

With this pace we win by domination easy. Cathedrals and stuff are not needed when there is a fast conquest or domination within reach. Or did you want to go for space or something?

OK, got it, will play tomorrow night when I get home from work. I'm happy to switch to KT, what does the rest of the team think? I agree that cathedrals won't help too much, we'll be finished before any city gets above 12 anyway. If we are going for domination we'll own a heap of diff lux's soon too so our markets will take care of most unhappiness.

I guess that is a good point. I have only recently started trying quick military wins, and I wasn't thinking along those lines, because I am more of a builder at heart.

I PM'ed Nemesis the other day, but still no response.

Anyone can take the save so this moves on.

It wasn't my intention to make a SCRAP-team for anything else but having fun.

But if you interpreted SCRAP as to scrap the game when we finally got some fun, well I'm not the one to go against a team.

So?
