GOZthefirst-(Mon-PTW-1.27-First-start)

Of course, it's a good addiction. Better than crack. :p

I don't think we should use ROP to explore and the explorer units later in the game would be more use to us in this game.

Pre-turn - I change production in Athens to warrior otherwise it looks alright. Change prefs, I like teleportation :)

Hmm, starting save should be at 1750bc, it is 1790bc, I get an extra turn :)

1750bc - IT, our regular Bart is now a veteran, as he defends against 2 barbs. Bart kills the remaining barb, - 2hp.
Sparta settler -> worker. Settler N to small lake. Spartan worker onto forest for granary chop.

1725bc - Thermopylae hoplite -> worker. Move hoplite towards settler.

1700bc - Athens warrior -> hoplite. New warrior called Bubba goes west. I want another settler out of Athens, then granary and wonder. GLIB anyone? Affirmative? :) Celts knows Iron Working, I trade Alphabet and Myst for IW ands 10g. There are a couple of iron sources around, the closest NE of Thermo

1675bc - IT a pop is gone from Sparta due to disease.
Lysander finds a goodyhut.

1650bc - Corinth founded -> warrior. Lysander pops GH and finds angry barbs.

1625bc - Lysander survives a barbattack. losing one hp. He fortifies. Thermopylae worker - temple. Move worker to chop forest.

1600bc - We learn writing, research Literature on min. Athens hoplite -> settler. I trade IW to Aztecs for contact Spain and 72g. Spain is behind IW, Myst and Writing. I give Celts Pottery and 85g for contact with Babylon. I didn't want to give away Masonry, so paying gold was better for now. Babylon knows even less.

1575bc - Sparta worker -> granary. New worker to help the other on forest. Celts start to build the Oracle.

1550bc - ---

1525bc - Corinth warrior -> worker. Lysander is exploring in the south, it seems like the landmass continues down there. Spain knows the Zulu, she wants Myst and IW for the contact. Ok, and Isabella chips in her last 10g as well. Shaka Zulu sells contact with Chinese + 35g for Alphabet and Myst. The AI is a sucker for Mysticism :) Chinese knows nothing of value.

1500bc - Workers chops forest by Sparta.

Settler due in Athens in 2, send him to cow SE, preferably to tile N of the little lake to avoid missing out on tiles. After settler, granary. We have 321g and make 12gpt. We know 6 other civs and should hold on to those contacts. I noticed the Aztec knows Writing, if there are any gold sell contacts, except Celts and Babs. The AI will give away communications.

The Save

My turn already! I need a break from GOTM 27. I don't know what you think, but late industrial age warfare takes it out of you. Trying to control millions of cavalry and tanks.

I hope I didn't just break the spoiler.

Bah. Boring set of turns, just what I needed. ;)

Turn 1 1475 BC: Exploring, Bart kills a barbarian. Athens grows. Debate whether or not to change production in corinth to temple, decide not.

Turn 2 1450 BC: Athens builds a settler, meet the borders of spain.

Turn 3 1425 BC: Aztec Jaguar Warrior appears. Amnimal stays in the south to hunt barbs. Aztecs have access to at least one supply of horses and iron.

Turn 4 1400 BC: We meet mighty persia. Apparently, we are supposed to tremble before his might, but he is down alphasbet and mysticism, not to mention contacts. I decide to leave his arogant behind that way.

Turn 5 1375 BC: Delphi found north of the lake. Can't pop rush anything yet. :(

Turn 6 1350 BC: Spanish finish the pyramids. We are in trouble now.

Psyche! I needed to make some action for myself.

Turn 7 1325 BC: Aztecs yell at us for wandering around in their lands, I tell 'em to shove it, they say move or declare war. I left.

Turn 8 1300 BC: Nothing.

Turn 9 1275 BC: Persia, Spain, and the Celts start building the colossus.

Turn 10 1250 BC: Delphi builds warrior, whip granary in sparta.

Histograph shows us in dead last. :goodjob:

And our save

Thought about the ROP thing and we will NOT allow it, it's cheesy after all.

Think of it like this, we start a war with a civ on another island, continent, we won't know much about their territory. Isn't that a nice challenge in itself?

Of course we could check out histograph and look how big the territory is, but this will add a lot of challenge with lux's/resources

Is it that we can sell our map and just not buy them, or is it no map trading at all, not even selling our own map?

Maps doesn't exist for us. We can't trade it, give it away, not even in demands. So always remove maps in trading.

Sorry about the delay i will try to have the turns by tonight.

No problem, we all have 48 hours to get our turns in. You still have like 4 hours, I think. But math isn't my strong suit.

Sorry for the delay, too much homework.

SAVE

Looking good :)

The grass wheat in Sparta should be mined (we already have the desired 5 food/turn from the FP-wheat) and the city should squeeze out a few workers who can mine the hills as well. When those hills are mined the city can alter production every second turn from grass wheat and mined hill. That should get it going. Or we build a temple there and use forest. This is for the guys that simply loves micromanaging :)

Coastal city W of Athens, we have a bonusgrass there.

And yeah, Corinth really needs that temple to grab wheat and game...I guess it's safe to build that settler first though.

Nick is up.

Preturns -MM Corinth to get one more trade per turn, and change sparta's Bonus wheat to a hill. If we had left it on the wheat it would have grown to size 7, meaning the granary food stored would be lost, it also completels in one fewer turn. Everything else looks good

IT- Aztecs compelte the oracle in tenochtitlan, celts cascade to colossus in entremont, just about everybody is building the pyramids

1-
Delphi: Temple - hoplite
Buy philosophy from the aztecs for 103 gold, philo + 162 gold to germans for polytheism

2-
Knossos founded to the NE of iron mountain, set to hoplite

3-
Sparta: Settler-Settler, I decide to send it up to the northwest of athens. It will overlap a bit but that was just wasted land up there, and we're running out of land that isn't desert or jungle.
Spain has Code of Laws but won't sell it for anything less than all our gold and gpt

4- Nada

5- Check histograph, we're not in dead last anymore! We're up on the ottomans :p. Lots of civs have CoL now, but won't trade it unless we give up our map.

6-Literature - Currency. I decide not to trade lit. around just yet, as I fear it will jeopardize our chances at getting the GL if the AI cascades from the pyramids.
Thermopylae: Hoplite-library

IT: Sure enough, IT the babs complete the pyramids, I'm glad I didn't trade it, but the AI all cascade to the lighthouse so I still don't feel safe trading it yet.

7-Corinth: Settler-hoplite. The settler is sent to the west of the gold hill near athens.

8-Delphi: Hoplite-settler
Argos founded to the site NW of athens, set to hoplite

9-Buy CoL from the ottos for 145 gold

10- Not much happens, I check around and we still have monopoly on lit. I don't think we should trade it unless someone finishes the great lighthouse and the AI doesn't cascade to anything else, until we complet the GLibrary ourselves, or until someone else researches lit. Our build will be complete in 15 turns, hopefully someone will finish the lighthouse by then(and before they get lit.). Remember to keep sparta below size 7 at all times, usually changing its wheat to a hill when it's size 6 will also finish the build one turn faster as well as keeping the food low enough.

Pre-turn - Teleportation on - Check
Change luxtax to 40% and make lazy citizen in Sparta work a hill for a turn, so settler due next turn. Why is Thermopylae building library, I change to hoplite. We are not going to research much for a while and we need warriors and workers. Change from hoplite to worker in Knossos.
Yikes, iron connected! We only have one source of iron and the Persians spread like a disease from the south and already took one ironsource. Send warrior to iron and disconnect, we don't want it yet :)
Build a bunch of warriors for upgrade, connect the iron, upgrade troops, then disconnect.
Send Drognan the hoplite to Knossos.
Eek! Hoplite in Corinth, change that to temple. Change Argos to barracks, they will be a 2-turn warrior city later.

And remember, all this hoplite frenzy can lure the AI to attack and we will have a very early GA.

Ok, I'm ready to go. Sorry about all the changes, but these are my preferences.

530bc- Sparta settler -> worker. Thermo hoplite -> warrior. The people give the palace a new lawn. Mycenae founded -> worker.

510bc - IT, Xerxes demands Literature. I tell him where to go and fortunately he back off.
Knossos worker -> barracks. New worker to forest to chop.

490bc - IT, Haha now the Mongols demand Literature, I say politely decline and he is still polite. The mongols knows Currency.

Send a couple of workers to chop forest by Corinth. Delphi got a plain irrigated, so settler will be build one turn faster. Mm Spart to get that worker next turn. Check diplo, 5 or 6 civs knows Currency and England also knows construction.

470bc - Sparta worker -> worker. Thermo warrior -> warrior. Herakleia founded -> worker. I let Athens work a forest, so GLIB in 9 turns. This allows Corinth work a irrigated plain, so temple in 10, less with the chop.

450bc - Persia ask my troops to leave his territory. I intend to move all 4 warriors in the area to the chokepoint and block it.

430bc - Thermo warrior -> warrior. Mm Sparta to get worker next turn. Dammit, I forgot to change research before so I change it now to Republic 40 turns. If we go at 70-80% it would take 24-27 turns. I play with the luxtax every turn.

410bc - IT England demands our precious Literature and they declare war when we refuse. Lighthouse must be near completion someplace, why else would the AI demand like crazy.
Delphi settler -> barracks. Sparta worker -> settler. Spain and Ottomans are also in Middle age now.

390bc - IT everyone is building the Great Library.
Thermo warrior -> warrior. Smartass Xerxes dropped off a settler pair near the southern iron, so forget about blockage. For some reason a Aztec jagwarrior walks in next to Delphi, can only mean one of 2 things...

370bc - IT Persia builds the Great Lighthouse. They also take the southern iron with a city. Aztec warrior sprints through our territory, if he's only going home he can do so. I thought he would sneak attack and we get a GA :)
The Celts plop down a city on our continent.

350bc - Workers Lodge founded -> worker obviously, the only function for this city is to build workers and more workers. Zulu has entered MA. Liz is too grumpy to talk.
If we get the GLIB in 3 turns, there is an option to trade/give techs to the other scientific civs to get them into middle age as well. We want those techs :)

Build warriors, heaps of them in towns with barracks. When the time comes to upgrade, send a stack of workers to ironmountain and connect. Upgrade warriors and disconnect the same turn.

My turn already? You guys can wait, I'm going to bed. :p

I'll start tomorrow on it. :king:

If the cascade is broken at the Lighthouse it's probably safe to trade literature, I doubt the AI is going to build our library from scratch in 3 turns ;), unless I missed something it seems like nobody can build any other wonders, right?
