I shall be the greatest general the world has ever seen. My predecessors have done well setting up a solid nation. Yet they stay at home while we are being attacked by forces and fighting in our own territory. This will not do at all. We need to be on the offensive, striking at their cities and for that we need an army. My first order is to acquire horseback riding from America. This will help with fast hard striking units. They say the require mathematics, our need is great enough to give it to them. Arabia has polytheism? No, I don't think that will help our current miliatry situation at this time. And my predecessor had us working on encoding the laws of our nation? Well it is underway so I think it will do for now. Can we insert a clause about Martial Law? Good. We have this many towns and are building one Warrior? My predecessor must have had no ambitions. Very odd. Woman's clothing indeed. Well I can't disrupt everything, it would make me look, bad, but at least swith Giza to a barracks. And tell me when the current jobs finish, so I can choose a more suitable task. We have iron but no way to get it here to the capitol? We need to fix that right away. Oh and stop giving those d*** wisemen working on the laws more than we can bring in every month. They can work with less. And send some warriors north to defend our town.
...
1050 BC (1): How can a major town like BlortPort not have a barracks? Fix that immediately. How can I become a great general with untrained drek?
IBT: Our exploring warrior was killed? See what I mean about the need for training?
1025 BC(2): The spanish are asking for peace? Let them sweat a bit and agree. Our military strength is pathetic right now. What my predecessors agreed to war for how long? Very well. We may want allies in the future, so stay at war. Just don't try to take them out with a lone warrior.
1000 BC(3): Well at least the capitol trains veteran troops. Make a warrior, we will upgrade his equipment when our blacksmiths can get some iron. And stop giving all our funds to those useless wisemen. That equipment will cost us a lot of gold
975 BC(4): Giza finally has some barracks? Well train some warriors then
950 BC(5): Asyut Built a warrior? Were they properly trained? I thought not. Fix that immediatly. Oh and I here we finally have some iron ore coming in. Start the upgrades immediately.
925 BC(6): Riots in Blortport? Well use some gold to to hold more Gladiator duels. That should keep them quiet until we can get troops to keep them from the rioting. BlortTech finished a library? Does it have barracks? Well get to it then.
Rumers of a civilization called the Zulu have built an oracle. Well maybe they can predict their own demise then when we do find them.
Oh and pull in some of the outlying troops so we can re-outfit them as well.
900 BC(7): I have ordered an new town to be built. It will bring in wine and is one step closer to establishing a second site of iron. Its first priority of course it to build some barracks.
875 BC(8): I have orderd yet another town along a river called Lisht. Our army is still upgrading. We will never attack at this rate.
Spain has given me two groups of slaves to in exchange for peace.
850 BC(9): Kriotalos has built its temple, so again I order barracks. I cannot believe the laxity of previous rulers on military matters. What did they do all day? Drink that vile mead?
El-Amama also completed a temple. Now that the gods will not get angry, it also builds a barracks. I am feeling the years and my dreams in youth of glorious conquest look unlikely to ever come. The empire was too much of a mess for a fix. Perhaps my successor will fulfill the dream.
825 BC(10): I hear tell of a civilization called Persia built a great statue called the colossus.
Well my dream of conquest was just that... a dream. But perhaps I have laid the roots for some other general to come along to rule the world.
