I downloaded watercolor graphics. I tried replacing the Conquests graphics, and it made my game crash on start up. What exactly should I be replacing?

I backed up my art folder, so the problem is fixed. But I am not sure how to install the mod.

I tried to put the files into my Civilization III game data art folder, and when I tried to start a game I got a "FogOfWar.pxz" is missing, or something like that.

Civilization III Game Data/Art/ contains the base level graphics for the whole game. Mods usually override just some of those files. If you are putting mod files in that folder or in its subfolders then you must replace individual files, not whole folders. If you just replace the whole of that /Art directory, or Art/Terrain, with the mod set then you'll probably not have a full set of graphics files. Hence your error message. (It's FogOfWar.pcx, by the way)
