Ok, section 2 (terrain/resources) is now on the way. (skeleton is at http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47260) Any feedback on that section (once there's actual content, of course ;)) is appreciated.

Additionally, I have a question to throw out for everyone to not comment on ;)

Any idea on how to organize the resource area? There are 2 general kinds of resource packs posted: those which add identifying badges to standard resources, and those which add additional resources for modding. This is my natural starting point for dividing them, but there is some overlap between the two. The real problem, however, comes from the fact that many of the latter type with added resources use the same stuff.

For example, Alice posts a mod with beer and copper as new resources. Bob posts a mod with Alice's beer and his own copper. Chuck posts a mod with Alice's copper and his own paper. Dave posts a mod with a changed version of Chuck's paper and unchanged version of Alice's beer.

This is the kind of thing that I'm seeing in the resources and I'm not sure how to adequately convey what's different about each package without utter confusion; I also want to make sure I credit the original artist wherever possible. My current idea is to list the additional resources section not by posted package, but by each resource itself, with a list of packages that contain one if that's possible. The 10-image per post limit is gonna require some creative screenshot making on that, though :(
Perhaps both types of indices would be best? Any other ideas?

I think it would be impossible to track down who has made all the resources :(
Maybe if you just list what is different from the original?

With all the buildings Ukas and others are creating now, maybe it would be an idea to make a part IV of the Library, with wonders and buildings only. And can we get a progress report, pdescobar, or are you too busy with unit creation? ;)

I've been sidetracked by other projects. I'll try to make some time in the next week to do a major update as I need to catch up to Ukas again and should at least put something in the resource section. I don't really know if we need yet another sticky thread for the buildings. Do you have a specific problem with the way buildings are currently represented? (They're at the end of section 3 although last updated 2-3 weeks ago.)

No specific problem, no. I just fear that there will be so many buildings so that they swamp the thread. Oh, and will we see library number one sometime?
:goodjob:

Sometime, yes, but not until after I deal with the resources. That's the lowest priority because of the older incomplete ones which are still there.

I downloaded a new graphic railroad pcx file. I not sure where to place the file in order to make it work. Can someone tell me how?

Thanks
Bratboy

To replace the standard railroad graphic, backup the railroads.pcx in the Art\Terrain subfolder of your civ3 folder and put the new one there.

Maybe this is of some help with the buildings & wonders. :D

Hi pdescobar,

I saw your work and they look great! How do you change the figureheads for domestic advisors, if other than brute-forcing it with image editors and cut-and-pasting? I've tried it but it's not as good as yours. I would appreciate it you don't mind giving me some tips or clues. Thanks.

Great work, gotta say it again! :goodjob:

Bigdog, it's his first post, what do you think? Stop acting like a child, it's getting pretty old.

Fatearthling, welcome to CFC. Typically, threads that have been inactive for a few months or more should not be bumped, unless you have something substantive to add. In this case, I think the question is valid. Advisors can be changed by replacing the original files in the Art folder. Backup the old ones, in case you want to use them again.
