graphics problem

PLZ Help. A month ago I played on the BTS Huge world map, and my computer crashed. It says that the "igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally". When I reboot, my graphic setting was set at the lowest color depth and resolution. No big deal, I just reset it. Havent played the game ever since today, but the same problem occurs when I try to start a new game (small map size). I can get into the game title screen fine, but the computer stops responding when I try to play a new game or load an old game. Do I need a new graphic driver first before I can play civ again?

let me clarify the problem:

I've been playing Civ 4 on my laptop for 3.5 years. I've never encountered a graphic problem before. Only recently the game crashed my driver, because I think rtvsscan was using a lot of memory while I was playing in the modern age in a huge map. Currently, I can get into the title screen of Civ 4 BTS fine, but when I start a new game or load an existing one, the game crashes. For some reason, the color resolution of my graphic setting at my computer is changed to Low Depth (4 or 8 bit instead of 32 bit color for High Depth) and the screen resolution changed to 600x800 pixels (thats huge icons!), then and I have to reboot my system to return my original setting. Currently I only encounter this problem in Civ4 only.

the graphics driver is quite - is this the newest one available? you likely need to check the HP support page for that.

would you guys recommend reinstalling the game? Reinstalling is a big hassal though...

Ok, problem solved. I update my graphic driver. It turns out one of the file is corrupted.
