Hi, a little question that might have been allready answered several times, but I didn't find it.
What happens if you complete the Great Library and you don't know any other civilisation ? Do you loose the benefit of the wonder ?

Well, you just have to do some exploring and find AI civs... That wonder gives you any tech discovered by at least three opponents that you have contact with so it is of no use to you when you are isolated. :)

Once you do make contact with that first civ, don't forget to see if you can trade for communications with any other civ's.

Great Library lives up to its name if you play on Pangaea worlds, I find.

Two civs... I've tried it before. Incredibly useful on deity level, especially if no one has built it and you've just fought an early war and got a great leader.

I discovered a bug with the great library playing a 2 city game. I was on an island by myself, and because I was not building settlers, I got the GL pretty easily. On the same turn, the Aztecs and the Egyptians showed up on my shores. They were a few techs into the industrial age while I was still in the ancient. My science advisor started telling me about the techs I learned, but this did not stop with education as it should. I got every tech from the middle ages and a couple from the industrial. It appears that as long as it all happens on the same turn as you get education the GL still has its effect.
