Great Library help please

hi

i research the great library, and got it.....but later in game i research education and it says my great library is cancel? how did that happen? i dont understand.



also when i am playing the game with three AI enemies that i am at peace with i would start getting some research techs that i didnt pick to research...how did that happen..i am not talking about the research tech u get with the civilitazion u pick?

hehe man this is pretty funny.

Do you know what the Great Library does? Go read on it. What it does is give you every tech that 2 (or 3) other known civs have. But it expires with the reaserch of education, which means that if you reaserched education but still have some techs that you dont know that other 3 civs do know, you wont get them. Many wonders expire with the reaserch of something, the whole expiring deal is there not to make any wonder too overpowered.

Basically, go read in the manual or civiliopedia about wonders, it'll explain everything.

most of the time you would not want to research anything after building the GL. let the AI do all the research for you(up to Education of course) and you save up money. the one thing i would research would be chivilry, once the prerequisites are dicovered by the AI. research it as fast as possible and then use your saved money to upgrade horseman to knights.

LedZep mentions that you receive a tech when two or three other civilizations know the tech. I thought it was always two other civilizations. What causes the variation?

Spike, I think he means "two or more". There is no variation.

Actually it can be three or more civs because it has to be two civs that you have had contact with. And yes, this should have been in a newbie thread.
