Hi, I'm a new member to this Forum, but I've been playing Civ since its 1st release.

Maybe I got a little late, but I have a suggestion for a future Civ 6 expansion:

Great Thinkers will be generated like great people, each one giving different bonus. I think that they could greatly influence the players governments choice.

What do you think about it?

"Great Philosophers" has a little more weight to it.
Personally I'm in favor of delineating a difference between Great Writers [of Fiction] and Great Writers [of Social/Political Theory]. Great Thinkers/Philosophers could be a means of achieving that.

The only problem arises when trying to figure out what the hell they would do. Would they provide bonuses to Happiness/Order? To Growth? Hard to say. Culture/Tourism/Golden Ages are already covered by Writers/Musicians/Artists, respectively. There may not be enough room for another.

That said, since Great People all do different things this time around, maybe Great Philosophers could function as a sort of Wildcard Great Person. Thomas Hobbes could provide happiness bonuses to an Autocracy Government, or bonus yields for courthouses while Confucius could provide bonuses to Meritocracy or extra amenities (order/happiness) to districts. Maybe Great Philosophers could be burned to generate special policy cards that only they can use. Could make for a pretty interesting mechanic.

Well, great philosophers may be related to the concept of civics that will be introduced in civ6.

Great diplomats can be a nice addition as well. They could establish alliances with states cities, for example.

I like how you improved my suggestion.
Sid Meier's Civilizations has always been my favorite game, but even being so complex, it can not simulate the real differences between forms of government, especially liberals.
I hope that the changes in the forms of government and diplomacy can make increasingly realistic game

Diplomacy and governance are the major defects of civ series. I support good ideas that can improve the game in theses areas.
