Greek SG - Regent level

Actually, Mad-Bax, I won't be rude. Go ahead and take it. I'm suddenly up in EE and XTR1. Hope you don't mind. :p

Warning, skip me the rest of the week. Church is in revival ( :) ) and college is starting again tomorrow; I'll be busy.

My turn then, after mad-bax finishes.

I was replacing my heating and hot water boiler last night 'till late. Everything is now back to normal. I *will* finish tonight.

I apologise for the delay.

1425AD: Pre-turn
Turned off city governors. Replaced clowns with tax-men where appropriate. Defecit reduced from 74gpt to 10gpt.
Reduced science to 70%. Now we are making 88gpt net and Scientific method is only one turn later. Note: without a leader we can't build TOE this quickly anyway.

IBT:
We lose 3 cav, 2 rifles and a stack of workers. Couldn't prevent it as movement points were all used.
Sparta Heroic Epic - Coal plant.

1430AD:
Capture last visible Iroquois town. Make peace, taking navigation and chivalry (big deal) in the agreement.

Now I can turn my attention to the Romans. I begin to move our forces north, but I fear we may lose a couple of cities over the next two turns.

IBT:
Richmond is lost.

1435AD:
Decimated most of the Roman Knight/legionary stacks near Artesium. Didn't keep count but it was roughly 12-2 in our favour. We now have 20 cavalry in Artesium ready for the counter.

The next IBT will be a bit rough, but once it's over we will be OK from then on.

IBT:
OK. No Losses after all. Things are looking up.

1440AD:
Kill another load of units around Artesium and set up attack of Anyang. It's Jungle bound so I can't do it this turn. I choose Anyang purely because it protrudes into "our territory" and is therefore a good stage for a possible counter attack. It is outherwise worthless.

IBT:
The Romans don't like the stack arrayed against Anyang and attack it with I assume everything they have. We lose 2 units, they lose 5.

Nineveh flips to the Iroquois.

1445AD:
Anyang is ours without loss.
Tatung is ours with the loss of 1 cavalry.
Some other fighting went on and I lost 2 cavalry. 1 against a legionary and 1 against a spear.

IBT:
The Romans capture Shantung which was gaurded by a single hoplite. The cavalry came out of the FOW. Never mind.
Learn Scientific Method research Replaceable parts.
Sparta starts TOE

1450AD:
First level war weariness sets in. Since it doesn't affect the core I just spend a pleasant 20 minutes hiring taxmen.

IBT:
The Romans lose a cav attacking us. Nothing else happened.

1455AD:
Ravenna
*Elite cavalry vs vet musket retreats
vet cavalry vs vet musket wins
Elite cavlary vs vet cavalry dies
Elite cavalry vs vet cavalry wins
vet cavalry vs reg musket wins and is promoted
Elite cav vs reg legionary dies
Elite cav vs reg spear wins
Elite cav vs reg legionary wins capturing city

Open ground
Elite Cav vs reg legionary wins

Caesarea
vet cav vs reg musket retreats
vet cav vs reg musket dies
vet cav vs reg musket wins
vet cav vs reg spear dies
vet cav vs reg spear wins taking city.

I don't often complain about the RNG, but that sequence was silly.

IBT:
Roman cav kills Elite rifle in Nanking. I'm starting to get irritated now.

1460AD:
Canon bombards cav and fails of course.
Elite cav vs roman cav wins, generating leader.
Switch Sparta to Market
Did a little short rushing to hurry a couple of factories.

IBT:
Ravenna is recaptured for the loss of a vet Cav. This is a risk with the way I deal with captured cities with a big population.

Sparta Market - Uni Suff. - hurried with leader.

1465AD:
Ravenna - Reprise
Elite Cav vs reg cav dies
Elite cav vs reg cav wins
Elite cav vs reg cav wins retaking city.

Nicomedia
Elite Cav vs vet pike wins
Elite cav vs vet pike wins generating leader and taking city.
Turn up Science to 100% to get RP in two turns.

Open ground
Vet cav vs reg cav wins

IBT:
Romans want peace. They have no chance. They are just a leader factory. Nothing more.
We build Uni Suff. and start TOE

1470AD:
Hurry TOE

Shantung:
Elite Cav vs reg Pike wins taking city.

Open ground
Vet cav vs vet pike on mountain retreats
Elite cav vs same pike wins.

IBT:
Learn Replaceable parts, research Atomic Theory
Build TOE and learn AT and Electronics
Research Sanitation, but I'll check the AI don't have it, otherwise I'll go for the Corporation.

Start Hoover Dam build.
We lose Spices.

1475AD:
Xman has a contact with the French  Thats a turnup. So I trade communications with the French, Xmans WM, spices and 50g for TOG.
Trade Hman dyes, physics and Democracy for furs.
Trade Xerses Incense and gems for 66gpt.
Trade Xerses medicine for 1230g + 142gpt. This guy is really wealthy. This is all he will pay, not all he CAN pay.
Printing press to Joan for 27g + 10gpt.
This has cleaned out everyone. Even X-man can't offer anything in exchange for anything now.

Back to the war....

Tarentum
vet cav vs vet musket wins.
Elite cav vs reg spear wins taking city.

Open Ground
Elite cav vs vet Legionary wins, generating leader.

I'm gonna leave it here.

So, generating leaders is the name of the game. Use vet cav to hit hard targets. Some will win, some will die, some will be promoted. Use Elites against soft targets. It is not necessary to target cities only. Kill any stray units with elites.

War weariness is not a problem at the moment, so we can stay at war for a while yet.
My kill ratio was appalling, partly due to the way the troops were dispersed all over the map when I took over, partly RNG and partly not using canon to soften up targets. I traded shields for leaders basically.

The leader is on his way to Sparta to hurry Hoover.
There is a sizeable team of workers around Shantung, they are railing up for the cav.
It may look as if we are near the domination limit, but we aren't. We have over 750 tiles to go.

Dunno what else to say really.

Here is where the action is at.

Here is the >>save<<

EDIT: There is a lot a micromanagement to be done before the next turn. Because I traded for a couple of luxes, and we got Suffrage a lot of specialists can be fired.

I don't have an excuse for not doing it I just closed the game down after taking the screenie and couldn't summon the energy to fire it up again just to fire a bunch of clowns.

Three leaders :)

One hasn't been used yet. It will be used for Hoover next turn.

Three? Now that's even better! :)

I must have read the turnlog a bit outminded, as I thought you had already built the Hoover...

Oh yes.

Forgot this completely. Will play tonight, as soon as I get home...

Well, unluckily I'm loaded up with homework, skiing trips and other stuff (yes, I need to get my priorities sorted), so I'm very unlikely to get this out of the way before Monday. Anyone is welcome to grab the game really...

Yndy.

He is? I thought there was someone in between. But my memory has failed before too, so...;)
