Grenadier versus Red Coat.

Grenadier gets 50% Strength bonus against Rifleman but doesn`t against English Red Coat.
That unreasonable as Red Coat is a replacement of Rifleman and so Red Coat are overpowering all units at that period until the Infantry comes out.
Do you think so?

Damn, the Bonus only got when grenadier attacks. Red Coat are also owned by Grenadier`s attack, sorry.

Yes, isn't that because the Grenadier get a bonus vs the Riflemen 'Class' not the Unit? And Redcoats being a UU replacing the Riflemen are in the Rifleman class. I was wondering about this myself..

Well I am not a Firaxis lover per se, but more of an 'English' Lover and yes it was historically accurate that they beat almost everything back then. But of course in this game they needed to sacrifice history for gameplay..

My Red Coat attacked a Grenadier and I didn`t see any bonus on Grenadier, so I thought he didn`t get bonus as I think Grenadier get the bonus vs Riflemen all the time at that time.

Friend, read the description a bit more carefully, please:

Grenadier has +50% ATTACK bonus vs riflemen, not strength bonus. You used redcoat to attack a grenadier, which means the grenadier was DEFENDING, of course you wouldn't see any bonus showing up.

Same like Cavalry vs cannons. The bonus applies only on attack.
