Do you turn on Grids in your game?

Just wondering. In Civ3 I always had grids on because...well the graphics weren't that great :p

However, in Civ4 I feel bad turning on Grid...it makes the game look well more "gamey" :)

I always have grids on....for some reason I have a hard time telling when something is in one square and when it's in the next. It also helps me work out resource gathering and such

With Civ3 it was sometimes necessary to use grids before founding a city to see just how the city tiles were going to lie (the diagonal thing messed with me sometimes). That's not a problem in Civ IV and the graphics now are so good I don't want to mess with the immersion experience. Now the only time I turn grids on is if it is absolutely critical that I get an exact count from one tile to another, then they go right back off.

Real men use grids !

I find it easier to manage my empire that way.

Sad it removes some of the beauty in the game ..

I always prefered Civ II's grid system. When on it would highlight the city radious in white, thus deciding new city sites (avoiding overlap etc) was much easier.

What The Tyrant said goes for me too.

Grids aren't really needed in civ4 once you play for awhile.

I swithc them on off, mostly off. on when have to calculate something upfront a bit. didnt wote for this reason. there should be on/off choice

The road graphics are so stinking crappy that I have to use the grids to keep my eyes from crossing and getting a headache. But, what to you expect when you are a sexegenarian.

I don't like to use them because it takes away from the natural-ness of the game. I won't take the poll thought because I don't think they're for sissies :P

I use them all the time. Personally I just like having the grid.

While things do look nicer without them, I can't play without them. I find it impossible to tell what is in each tile without it. Plus, as was said, the roads drive me crazy without them.

I love grits. I have them for breakfast almost everyday.

Grids on only if I'm really tired, otherwise no grids as they look ugly and in the later game really slow down map scrolling.
