So, I am having a really bad time with this game so far. The biggest problem are the differences from Civ 5 that are preventing a playable experience for the game scenario I want to play. I like to play Egypt and the Byzantine Empire in historically accurate geography, but there are problems with this. With the Byzantine Empire, there are no Ottomans that work with Rise and Fall, which ruins the experience. With Egypt, there are no civs in northern Africa so I get assailed by constant barbarian assaults. I tried modded civs, but it does not place any of them in northern africa... Can anyone help me make playing these civs a fun experience in a geographically authentic, sweeping way? Thanks for any help.

Obviously you ask for a very specific scenario/mod. As far as I know something like this doesn't exist. You simply have to create it yourself.

Btw. what does your question have to do with strategy?

No, this isn't what I am looking for. I am looking for a map with TSL code that doesn't leave Northwestern Africa completely empty. YNAEMP is supposed to do this, but I am not getting that result. So, what this has to do with strategy is that if there is no solution to this problem (being out for two years, I am both shocked and very disappointed that this is the case), I am hoping that someone has some other strategy, work-around, or advice (besides turning off barbs) for someone in my situation? That is why I posted it here...

You need help with barbarians? They are pretty intense on any map and can be scary in the beginning for sure. Units are good. Having visibility in all areas. Taking out camps soon rather than leaving them and preventing any scouts that find you to get back to home camp (this is only possible later when you have more mobile units). So if all camps are in a certain region you can patrol with horses and kill scouts and they will not come over to attack your cities.
