Headaches and Anti-Glare Screens

Recently, I've been considering getting an anti-glare screen thingy for my monitor, to reduce headaches. As they're cheap (10-20 dollars, I think) here, price is not a problem, but do they help?

I tried googling, but all I got were sites selling them, and I really don't trust those for some reason.

Do you still have a CRT monitor? Raise the refresh rate. If you have a LCD screen it really shouldn't be an issue.

I have a CRT, and the refresh rate is as high as it'll go.

There is an LCD monitor, but mom took it and she uses the computer less than me!

Most likely you have your monitor's brightness settings too bright or too dim for the room and/or content.
