Hell Victory

i always turn off religious victory because its more of a nuisance than anything. i like the idea of an increase in production speed based upon how much you have contributed to the AC. i think that any ritual that would give you a hell victory should be in stages. thats because i dont think your fellow followers of the AV would be happy that you are gaining more favor. I dont see other civs with AV as being a "friend" relationship but more as "i wont kill you until last" kind of thing. that way if it was done in stages, it would give them time try to kill whoever was getting close.

If a ritual build speed can be tied to AC contribution that would be best. The idea of automatically giving the victory to the largest AC contributor seems really lame, but it should help somehow. I still think that we first need a ritual to make peace/open boarders with the barbs, preferably buildable just barely before the first Horseman arrives (but you probably would need to slow you conquest, own the Celestial compass, and just hope for the best if you want to avoid the onslaught entirely). Once you are at peace with the barbs (perhaps whether through the ritual or through the trait, just to give Infernals and the Clan a slight advantage) I could see two more stages in order if we want to give the other AV civs a chance to turn on their more favored brethren. Personally I still think that making a 100 AC = Barbarian Victory (thus loss for everyone else) would work best, and the victory ritual would actually just give the civ a permanent alliance with the barbs (so they would share in the victory). This would force a war between them and everyone else.

Not necessarily the best idea, but I was just thinking it would be interesting if the second level ritual force the barbs into war with everyone but the builder (thus making everyone unable to build build the second and third rituals until they rebuild the first. Of course, this could get very frustrating and probably wouldn't be a good way to make the AI dogpile you. Also, if another civ built the first and second ritual after you had the third then they could force a peace treaty with you, and make you declare war on everyone else. Perhaps I should rethink this one.

believe it or not , you will most likely get a religious victory long before conquest. every city that teh infernals take is converted to AV. every city that mardero takes is converted to AV. also , you can increase teh religion spread by making your allies help you in the war.

as far as the other victory conditions...
--the more the bad guys group together and kill , the higher your chance to capture / trade for the mana needed for the tower.
-- if you want a cultural vic , teh infernal cities are wonderfully setup to make great artists ... convert to guilds , republic , and the one with 100% culture bonus and it will climb fast.

I'm not saying that other victories are not viable, but that netrual/good civs have 1 victory chance more than evil civs.

I don't like AC contribution just because if one Civ is behind and are evil they'll start working to knock it down.

Perhaps when the AC counter breaks 100, it turns into a life counter that drains based on hell terrain spread and such. Rituals can also knock it down from 100. When it hits 0, a modified score victory is announced (based on % followers of AV, regular score, hell terrain spread, contribution to,the AC, etc.)
