Help - 1.61 doesn't load any mods - I can only play vanilla

I don't know why, but 1.61 only allows vanilla on my pc. whenever I load a mod it displays the mod name but I only get the vanilla stuff (as I can see from the Civilopedia).
When loading Ancient Mediterranean or my modified version of Total Experience of I do not even get a menu.

I have already tried emptying the cache with no effect.
Do I have to fiddle with the ini file?? Or what do I have to do?

I am almost ready to deinstall and go back to 1.53 where I was pretty fine since most changes seem to affect multiplayer which I don't use. I was only interested in the better memory usage since I have problems with huge maps in later game on my machine.

Can anybody help me? I'd be most grateful

Sounds like you are trying to load mods that are not v1.61 compatible. Be patient. Most will be converted. But you need to download the new files.

thank you very much for the speedy answer. I have already found some (Ancient Mediterranean + Sevomod) that have been upgraded to 1.61
and I can now go about doing my own again.
I guess I just have to copy Assets from the vanilla to a newly created mod subfolder and then change as I like.
