I can't start new games! I clicked on the new game icon and all i hear is a sound. I tried to use quick start and tutorial and it still doesn't work! Also, when i try to load any games, the civ3 game crashes. I have v1.21. Please help!

1. What is the exact windoze version:
Start-->ControlPanel--->System--->General Tab
2. What does Windoze report as your video driver:
Start-->CP-->System-->Device Manager Tab-->Display Adapter-->Double Click on you Video Card name --->Driver-->Driver File Details
(State all that it says, or give a screenshot)
3. What happens if you do:
Start --> Run --> Qfecheck.exe [ENTER]
(This runs an MS diagnostic called Qfecheck.exe, but only certain patches may have installed it, so nothing may happen, e.g., program not found)

You should also post this in the Civ3 tech support forum, most of the cracks over there don´t come here. 
The most frequent error when starting Civ3 are conflicts with the BINK video drivers.
Windows 2000 for example need alternative ones.
The easiest solution for this, is to rename the intro.bik in your Arts/Video folder. Then make an empty file called intro.bik.
If this works, you also need to rename and remake the other videos, otherwise it will crash when starting the spaceship for example.
Other reasons are discussed in the Civ3 tech support, you might want to look there too.

yup, I agree with Lucky... you might find a faster answer (and maybe better) with those that have run the civ3 gauntlet before. I'm not installed my civ3 yet, and won't for a couple months
....
