Help! Changing Language

A friend recently gave me his copy of Civ III, I was overjoyed, until I realized the entire thing is in another language!! How do I change it to english?

You'd have to install the English Language version. There's no real easy way to do it other wise.

I couldn't figure out how to do that (pretty sure there was no option to do so however) since the whole thing was in a foreign language!

Either way, I could not find anything useful at all online, so I've already given up and traded it for his Brood War CD that a friend (who happens to play civ, not own III, and speak the language) returned as he does not have the original Starcraft. So I guess this question is defunct now. Apologies.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. It's not an option on install, but rather the disc you buy that needs to be in English....

Installing English patches could change lots of texts, so it's worth trying.

Yeah, but it's not going to get everything....easier to just install the proper version.

So it's not very easy to change the language?

Because i'm learning french and was thinking it would be good to change civ 3 (complete) to french, just temporarily.
