Well, there really is no upside as far as I see it. The world is an interesting place full of people and experiences. I feel great after I've hung out with friends! An hour with my best bud is faaaar better to me than an hour playing Civ or "talking" to you people.

Well, obviously. I happen to work on the internet a lot, so this is just breaking the straining routine of this big work day today....as you can see by my rapidly inflating post count (started at 1700 today).

Not all are (perhaps these guys being an exception??)
@SE: When you get older, perhaps you will broaden you perspective on the subject. Sometimes you put your hand on a hot plate and get burned, other times it is a "soothing experience"

If this thread had a slightly different topic, I would go further into this discussion - but right now, that would be going off topic a bit.

To CG - if you want a lasting relationship, search for a girl/woman who likes you as much as you like her. Good women are hard to find, but sometimes worth the effort, even when burned.

Besides, the only real good thing about getting dumped is to discuss it with friends over a few beers afterwards.

It wont be necessary for you to change your way of being, just dont get too clingy to the first one you meet - calm down and enjoy each pace of the road.

EDIT: no as to taking it slow. that would be a contradiction in light of my earlier posts

You sure? You might have trouble making those kids by then....or keeping up. And you might not see any grandkids grow up and beg for money...

Which is why I really don't care about not having had a real girlfriend before....I'd had to have been someone else to do that.....then what's the point? Time to relax.....

The primary thing is that I am not yet cut out to be a parent. I need and very much want to live my life for a while before adding the responsibility of others to it. That way, I'll appreciate the additions even more than I would now.

While I can't change the fact that I could be hit by a bus and dismembered under screeching publicly funded tires walking across substandard pavement tomorrow, my own personal efforts at increasing my longevity, combined with continuing medical advances make my goal of later kids very much possible. As a matter of fact, having to keep up with the kids may help keep up my health towards the 'middle years' (50-70).

Call me a pessimistic optimist.

Of course, you do have a few other alternatives...

1) Get a female dog
2) Go to the Las Vegas Strip...
3) Meet someone online (too bad about SE, shes taken by Xen)
4) I'm sure there are a lot of gay guys out there...
5) Get a girl addicted to Civ and chances are, you can teach her how to play civ
6) Leave CFC
7) Laern how to speel correclty

Splendid list, WF. I have to agree with everything you said, minus being taken. I'm a free woman and I'm not tied to anyone, online or RL.

CG, for once, WF has a point and you gots to get out there boy!
