Hi all-

So its probably been 18 months at least since I've played Civ IV due to my desktop computer being fried. I at the time had downloaded a few mods that I really liked (PIG being one of them).

But now I'm intimidated as much has changed in the last 18 months. I don't remember which mod I liked and used constantly in my many games.

I'm looking for a mod that doesn't go crazy by adding too much to the tech tree (like C2C looks like it is) but adds extra civilizations and makes the AI play better. In other words, not a drastic mod but one that betters the game and adds a little more flavor to the game.

Is there a consensus mod like this that I should be looking for? I did Rise of Empires last and seemed to like it alright, but its been so long and just wondering if there is a go-to mod nowadays.

Thanks!

Sounds most like K-mod as to what you're describing. Ring a bell? Not sure if it was around 18 months ago but give it a shot either way.

I personally like Legends of Revolution.

You should definitely try Rhye's and Fall of Civilization (RFC) series. Start with the final vanila RFC version and then dive into different modmods.

+1 to K-mod as well. Same for the nod to LoR and RFC. if your looking for a nice expansion besides the ones mentioned, try HRW. It's a good easy to mid-rng EXPK that is accomodating to most player types. There's a host of others as well, just check the mod-pk forums, I believe The J catagorized the into tabled sections to make things easier.
