Help making Bosnian civilization

Doing a BosniaHercegovina civ..
Leaders that helped keep it as is, will be considered

BosniaHercegovina was incubated by the Ottomans in the mid 1400s, and has stayed together ever since.

Things are getting better there since the war ended tnx to the guidance and support from NATO

there have been some unappropriate posts in this thread, but since i like the posters won't report it to the mods.

Bosniak muslim UU. I dont see how in the world can it represent the two other nations in Bosnia since it waged war against them.

All muslim, ergo Bosniak.

So, what makes this mod Bosnian and not just Bosniak other than using city names of places that are not inhabited by Bosniaks only?

1. Flag that was enforced after no agreement on flag could be reached. Its ok, but is more of an emblem of lack of unity than unity, not all that relevant. Flag is ok.

2. Bosniak UU. It did defend the Bosniak people after they decided to stand up to Serb aggression, but it also performed ethnic cleansing of both Croats and Serbs in the territory it held. It does represent Bosniaks, but to claim it represents either Bosnian Croats or Serbs would be an insult, esp. to people whose family members were killed by them.

3. Leader. Any leader post Stjepan Tomašević is again insultive. Any muslim from the Ottoman era stands as a symbol of oppression over Christianity. Kallay, Burian? Austrian governors not needed. Tito, maaybe, but most of Herzegovina hates him with a passion for mass executions post WWII. Zlatan Ibrahimovic might be neat, but he's Swedish. Current president? Which one of the three? Or maybe make one with three heads. Jović, Paravac and Tihić on one body. Or go for Paddy Ashdown, international man of mystery.

Real leader candidate would be Tvrtko Kotromanić. And then go for some medieval unit.

Well it seems impossible to make this Civ without insulting some people. But it can be kept to a minimum.

We can for examlpe, make 3 different Bosnian civs in the one mod. So for each Civ there is a muslim, serb or croat as the leader.

or

We can put Sergej Barbarez as a leader (he's half Cro so don't get excited Anima Croatorum) but that would be a bit of a joke because he's a soccer player, but I bet a lot of people wouldn't mind because he is well loved

or

We can put the flag of BIH, and as the leader name we can simply put "Predsjednik BIH" which means "President of Bosnia and Herzegovina".



And I disagree that Armija BIH (the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina) is soo insulting to others. Today i think that the army has unified again, or it will unifiy soon and then it will be again called Armija BIH. It would have been different if the special unit was called "Mudzahedin" which is insulting to others, becuase it would be just as bad as calling it "Cetnik" or "Ustasa". If you come up with a better unique unit I'll take it, but again it has to be unique to BIH.

During the Bosnian war there were more than 20000 Serbs and more then 8000 Croats who were willingly members of Army of BiH which is enough to make it multinational and multiconfessional army. Army of BiH did have some extreme mouslim elements but they never were a majority inside it.

There were also a lot of non-muslim high officers in Army of BiH, for an example General Jovan Divjak who is Serb.

But anyway I agree that it is for the best to take Tvrtko Kotromanic as a leader and some medieval unit as UU. Or maybe just take Warrior and name him "Ratnik" or take the Knight and name him "Vitez" (mmm this is the best solution actually since there is a town in Bosnia which name is Vitez )

This new flag is ok, maybe there are not so many people that take it as Bosnian symbol of unity but I'm sure that nobody has negative emotions about it.

You know what unit nobody has yet? A dragon. 'Zmaj od Bosne' as UU

And the most important thing. Sound theme.

Suggestion B: Donna Ares - 'Prokleta je Amerika' or 'On ne zasluzuje'
Suggestion C: Dino Merlin and Vesna Zmijanac - 'Kad zamirisu jorgovani'

Yes, you can, but just parts of one song. It plays whenever you negotiate with that civ or zoom in on the cities.

You're on dial-up?

My Magyar mod uses one song, four leaders and two UU and final size is 5mb. My Croat mod uses two songs, four leaders and one UU and final size is 7mb.

that's ok then, the file sizes are still small.
i though they would be way bigger
