Hi. I am completely new in Civ world. I bought Civ IV CE few weeks ago but only played tutorial. Got Civ V, read the manual and played tutorials. This is my FIRST game. I know I did some horrible things in this game and that I missed a lot, but hey, it will get better.

I am Russian as you might see. Now, I've encountered a few different problems because I just don't know how to execute this right. I had problems fighting Egypt but terrain was also unfriendly so... Anyway, I will now go into India. I've provided a ScreenShots.

I am sorry if this is in the wrong section, but this is core gameplay, not strategy really. I want to know some gameplay things. But move the thread if needed.

My main questions for this SS are:

http://img716.imageshack.us/i/29431978.jpg/

1. Are my Trebuche position ok for bombardment. It has a range of two, but I don't can it fire OVER two tiles or over ONE.
2. I still didn't get this part right. Look at my troops at the border. How to order them all to attack city/other units UNTIL DESTROYED. Or I have to click attack command at every turn? I had that problems in Egypt. Units would stop attacking and if I clicked Next Turn they would get attacked again.

Following SS shows what I have conquered in Egypt. Small but... It is Annexed.

1. What should I do here? I know everything what Annexed means, but what should be main focus here? I know I should attack Memphis, but I am unsure how bombardment work. Over one or over two tiles.

Following SS shows area where I passed. Destroyed the Persians totally (one city left), etc.

2. What should I do here? Just bring workers and...

-- This is important. When my troops were in Egypt suddenly I got message that Heliopolis (which is just a bit west of Thebes) is mine. I was WTH. I never set foot there. I annexed it. What happened?

PS. What to do with all this Gold lol
PS2. There is a BUG if anyone else encountered in Annexed cities. When you "Choose Production", there are $$$ signs near unit name.

Thanks in advance.

Range 2 means you can hit anything within 2 hexes, so you can have 1 hex and then the target. So in that picture the only one in range is the trebuchet closest to mumbai, right on the Indian border.
Don't forget that as it's a siege weapon you need to spend one point of movement to set up the trebuchet to fire and you still need line of sight to fire, so any intervening hills, forests or mountains will block it, though if you're on a hill you can fire over intervening forests (and maybe hills, but i'm not sure on that one)

2. I still didn't get this part right. Look at my troops at the border. How to order them all to attack city/other units UNTIL DESTROYED. Or I have to click attack command at every turn? As far as I know there isn't any automated attack command, each turn you will have to tell what units you want to attack to attack.
Not sure if this is also something what you mean but might be going by your wording, unlike in Civ4 where every fight was to the death, in Civ5 attacks can (and often will) end with both units still alive but with varying degrees of damage done.

Um, well what you should do depends on what you want to do, if you want to attack him then attack, if you want peace then try to make peace. Peace can normally be a bit more profitable as you can extort him for all his gold and then in ten turns attack him and finish him off.
For bombardment, using the mountain as a reference point, any trebuchet on the hill with the mine below the mountain or on (starting from the mountain then heading right) the desert tile, the trading post or the plantation (going right and down, the plantation next to The Great Wall) should be able to fire on memphis.

No idea. The only thing I can think of is if you told a unit to attack it when it was far away and when it finally fot there it attacked and managed to take the city somehow.

Spend it, buy buildings or extra units, start research agreements, buy hexes, buy resources from other civs, etc.

Assuming you just annexed it straight after conquering it, it's probably still in unrest. After you capture a city the population spends a few turns revolting and you can't build anything, look for a fist icon next to the icon indicating that you've annexed the city.
