Help Me!

i have had this problem before. Suddenly Civ2 will not open. I get the message that the program has done an illegal operation and will be shut down. I know that the Microprose page had a solutions to this problem - but I can not get into the page right now. Can anyone help me?

1Make sure your screen is at the same rez as the game and at 256c
2clear your trashcan
3clear your windows temped
4clear your doc folder
5clear your task bar if you need more mem
6restart computer
7make sure the sound card is working right
8did u install the full game
9 run scandisk
10 clean swap file

Check for viruses, defrag hard drive, and run a thourough scandisk. Not the wimpy little twenty minute one, I mean the four hour long scanning the disc surface one. Also, check that your software and hardware drivers are up to date.

Your quickest option (or at least the one to use if all the other suggestions fail) is simply to reinstall the game from CD. Save your Hall of Fame and current game files first.
