HELP! Menu text strange after 1.52 patch

I have been playing civ4 with the 1.09 patch with no problems. I just installed the new 1.52 patch and suddenly half my menus have the text"TXT_MENU_......" on a few of the menu options. Sometimes I cant even see the menu option because of it. There are also a couple of error messages suddenly popping up at the start when loading the initxml stage.
"failed loading xml file/text/civ4gametext_misc1.xml.
Has anyone experieced this or know of a solution?

It looks as though its become corrupt after the patch. Try a complete deinstall of ALL parts of Civ - that way nothing is left there to get in the way of patching etc. Such corruption whilst not common, has happened, and a clean install has sorted it - go here

If still an issue after that, post again with symptoms - there is a possibility its to do with an old XML Parser error, but dont want to go there for now until we are certain you have a clean install
