help mge cedrics patch

I have used cedric greens patch to upgrade my classic version of civ2 to mge but when i try to play the following error comes up "A required .DLL file, DPALYX.DLL, was not found.

does any one know anything

Did you mean dplayx.dll? If so I think this is a DirectX file, you can the latest DirectX files from www.microsoft.com . If that doesn't help let me know.

right heres my comps specs
cyrix 586
48mb ram
win 95b
dirrect x 2 I think
A bad cd drive

heres what I did after fishing out a couple of old demo discs with dirrect x on them
after crashing my comp a few times trying to access the cd I finally managed to get into them. Once in I tried to find an installer programme for them but there was none. But I started browsing my comp and seen some dirrect x drivers in my c:\windows\system\ folder so I found dplayx.dll on this disc put it in the above folder (it was version 6 I believe) and It works
so I have dirrect x 2 mixed with dplayx.dll version 6 any one out there know if I will have any probs with this

I didnt use dirrect x 8a (the latest version) because I didnt know if my comp would support it
