What's supposed to happen after I finished building the last spaceship's part? I just did and nothing happened. The screen showing the spaceship's progress won't come out anymore.

My game version is 1.29f.

I edited your title for clarity. They should be "descriptive". ;) --Padma

Is it after 2050??

Either it's after 2050, as GK said, or there has already been another winning condition met. Otherwise, you would have gone to a cut scene in which you see your spaceship launch, and you would have won the game.

Welcome to CFC, btw.

The 'LAUNCH' button in the spaceship screen glows orange when all parts are completed. Provided the game has not already been won or lost, you can't actually get out of that screen without pressing it and seeing the ending.

It is possible to win/lose and 'forget', especially if you are dealing with tens of popups every turn...

Thanks, everybody.

Yes, it is 2054. And also I lost the diplomatic competence before.

Is there anything I can do yet? I was thinking on loading an earlier saved game and hurry scientific discoveries and probably productions to finish on time.

If you only missed the last part by 4 turns you can definatly make it. While I'm not an advocate of reloading if you've never seen the space race win its worth it to go back.

Go back to 2048 or so(with the auto-save, you do auto-save right??) & take every single unit you have to that town & disable them for the shield bonus. That should(hopefully) be enough to finish it in 2049 and its.................. Blast Off!!!

Um, if that doesn't work then most likely you don't have space as a victory condtion.

Then, how do I find out my victory conditions. When I started the game I said, "ok, let's give it a try". I didn't pay much attention to the conditions. I was expecting a fast try. Then I couldn't stop playing. I barely worked and rested for three days.

Welcome to the world of Civ-addiction, emural! We call it the "Just One More Turn" syndrome. :D

You can't directly find out what victory conditions you have on oonce the game has been started. However, Gramphos has created a utility, Civ3MultiTool, that can find this out for you, if it is really important. Chances are, if you just installed Civ3, and jumped in to play a game, that all victory conditions are on.

You can also start a new game, with out actually starting it. If you get to the screen that allows you to pick the victory conditions, it will show the last game's parameters. So if you hadn't started a new game since you started the one you're playing (some people like to play multiple games) then you can see.

@MarineCorps - If space isn't set, you can't build the spaceship. . . since (s)he could, it was a victory condition.

If a UN vote was held and someone else was elected, then you've already lost at that point and another victory condition will not trigger. You'd need to have a save from before the UN vote in order to go back and change something to get the Spaceship win.

If all you really want is to see the space race victory movie, you can also go to C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Movies and rename "intro.bik" to "intro-orig.bik" and "race.bik" to "intro.bik." When you restart civ 3 you'll see the space race victory movie instead of the introduction movie. When you curiosity is satisfied, just change the file names back to the original and you're game is back to normal.

(With PTW, swap "race.bik" into the Civ3PTW\Art\Movies folder and rename it "x intro.bik" for the same effect - remembering to save the orginal "x intro.bik" as something else for the interim.)
