Help: Want to creat good island map (256x256)

I thought that I'd take a shot at making my own world map. I'm looking to create a chain of islands on a 256 x 256 map for Civ III v. 1.29f with all 16 civs.

I came across one map in this forum but it seems that the designer made island to accommodate 1 city for each island. What is the minimal size that an island has to be for it to enable growth for a civ?

Yes, I did try searching for this very topic and can't find a similar thread.

Thanks in advance for any help. Who knows, perhaps this thread can serve to help others doing similar things.

Are you asking how big an island has to be for the AI to build multiple cities on it? Five or six tiles in the longest direction, I think.

That's right. 6 tiles, eh. This would make for an interesting set up. I'll have to move this to a different forum. As the person before said, this is for completed maps and not for those seeking to creat one.

Now, how do I move this thread or can some helpful moderator help n this?
