Help!!! Win 98 compability mode on W2K SP4

Hello,
I wanted to try to install civ 2 on my PC. I have it installed on my old PCs where I (also) had win 95 resp. 98. There was never a problem. But on W2K... So how can I run the compabilty mode? On SP 2 I had no problems but the introduction to SP 4 is not understandable for me. Or is civ 2 not running either?
Nevertheless I want to have enabled this mode.
Can someone help me please?

I don't remember exactly how I did it when I was running W2K, but this sounds resonable. If it doesn't work, search the support.microsoft.com site.

i think it is inlcluded on windows 2k cd... you need to put CD in CD-ROM, and it will say install aditional components.

Thanks, Padma, I had some writing errors. If any is needing this mode I have to add that when you´re ready with SP 3 you have to do the same with SP 2! This means you have to do the instructions of SP 3 at first. Then you have to do it with the ones of SP 2 also.

I just tried it again. Even though the PC says AUTOEXEC.NT is not suitabled for this application. This meand most probably I have to look for a solution or it is not possible.
