I have read all the threads about this topic but I just can't get it together.

I started with making all the 17 Civilizations from scratch, but it didn't help.

If I can get this scenario togeter I promise it will be one of the better ones around.

To begin with I want to change the Mongolian Empire into this:

Name: ASEAN
Leaderface: Quin Shin Huang

I also want to change the text in the Civilopedia and I want to edit the special unit and special building. But I want to keep the same graphics.

Could anyone help me, so I can get going?

I can't help you because i'm quite busy myself with another mod. But everything you want to do is pretty easy to do with some small XML edits.

I suggest searching around these forums in the Tutorial section looking for some XML TUTS. Thats how I got started. You can learn it really quickly because it's a really basic/easy code.

G'luck and I hope you get this mod up and running.

After you have a basic understanding of XML you can pm me and I may be able to help you with small little details (like questions) but nothing more than that because like I said, I'm working on somthing else.

Im up and running. I've edited all the leaders and all the civs. Now it's map buildning-time.

It look good so far.

Good i'm glad thats working for you. In no time you'll start into graphics editing and then maybe advance into python or C++ Everyone takes things differently though.

For me I started on XML and learnt it really quick. Then I went on into graphics editing/modelling and then started texturing them (which involves 2d editing). Now i'm just learning how to animated them. Hopfully soon enough I'll be coding all sorts of things..

All that took me maybe about a month and a half. I started from knowing.. pretty much nothing to all that so you should learn quickly expecially with all these great TUT's on the forums.

:D

Remember, pm me if you get stuck. I wouldn't be where I am now if I didn't get help.

Yeah the xml files are pretty easy to read. I didn't know squat about xml until I studied the files themselves for a while, now I'm pretty good at editing it. I hope someday to delve into the graphics realm and python.

Thanks a lot.

Im learning a lot right now, the hardest thing was to get going and to get a overview of how it works. Now I know where to edit and how I should arange my files.

Im expecting to go down to the details in next week.

Things like: How big should the cities be in order to give the right population?

I will also need help in editing some text that I have writtten in order to deliver correct english.
