Help with Old .sav files

I'm trying to load up some of my very old Conquests saves, but whenever I open them, all of the older ones have this message:

DataIO operation System Error: DATE

And then more errors appear:

DataIO operation System Error: PLGI
DataIO operation System Error: PLGI
DataIO operation System Error: DATE
DataIO operation System Error: DATE
DataIO operation System Error: CNSL

After that, I get one big error ingame saying that there was an error reading the file.

Those games were all from previous versions, and usually i only have to revert to an old patch, like v1.12, but even then it has stopped working. Either I have been removing newer patches and installing older ones incorrectly, or there is a different problem, but I'm not quite sure. I've had some suggestions from the "Quick Answers" thread, but nothing has seemed to work so far. Thanks ^^

I think the problem is simply that they're not backwards compatable. Do you know what version they were created it? You need that patch, and only that patch if its C3C.
