Help with TAM on BTS

I loved TAM on Civ4 So I got BTS and loaded TAM and all the BTS patches for it but it crashes with an send/don't send error message. I updated my drivers and directx but still the same error. Can anybody help me I really would like to play the new version.

Did you load the BTS version of TAM? And are you [/I]sure[/I] you have the 3.13 patch for BTS?

There is also a difference between the official and unofficial 3.13 patch, I think...

Yes I have the good 3.13 patch. I can play all the other mods that bts came with just fine. TAM loads but when I Choose a ruler it crashes. Thanks for the help.

The "good" patch meaning what? There is an "official" patch from Firaxis and then an unofficial patch from Bhruic. You need to have the official patch installed.

If what you're saying is correct, I can only think of 2 things that might be causing this issue (since TAM works fine for everyone else).

1) You have a prior version of TAM which needs to be removed. Delete the old TAM folder, download the latest version (0.74) for BTS, and then re-install it in your My Documents/My Games/Civilization 4/Beyond The Sword/Mods folder.

2) You have overwritten some game assets, either in the main assets folders, or you have some files in a Custom Assets folder (which are loaded on top of everything else and take precedence when loading a mod) which are overriding the TAM files and causing a CTD.

To fix the former you need to (delete) and reinstall CIV 4 and then BTS, applying patches when you're done. To fix the latter you should check your Custom Assets folder and either remove or rename the files so they don't override TAM files.
