help with this game...

What help may be you be able to offer on this question. How do you avoid falling behind in research. I am currently playing a Monarch game with the Greeks. Thank you.

Screenshots are also immensely helpful.
Most likely you aren't building enough workers and are keeping 1-2 spearmen in all your cities. Only defend your borders, with a small group of quick-movers to cover your territories from the stray landing party.

What version is that save? I can't seem to open it with CA2.

Edit: Can't open it with C3C, either. "Data somethingorother: CNSL."

Oh sorry, it is CIV3 vanilla...

The file you uploaded is corrupted.
Also, try uploading a game you saved by manually choosing "safe game" from the menu, not an auto-safe. Auto-safes are uncompressed....

That said, I think it is corrupted, 1 MB seems like a lot to me, and when I zipped it, the ZIP-archive became 84 KB, this means the file must contain a lot of empty space....

Being vanilla would not stop C3C from loading it, unless it was not patched to 1.29f.
