help...?

hello!

everytime i try to load my saved game, an error appears! it says something like... :

DataIO operation System error : CITY

and when the game loads, ALL the cities are gone... the units, resources and roads appear, but no cities!

is there anything i can do to salvage this file?
(i was so close to beating monarch level...)

What version of the game is this? Regular 'Vanilla' Civ3, Play the World, or Conquests? Patch level?

I might upload later, since I'm not at home...

But it is a Regular Civ3, and I haven't applied any patches yet. (i think it still is Version 1.07f)

Well, I don't think it'll fix the problem, but you should patch to 1.29f asap. You can find the patches here.

Will the save still be compatible, Turner? I don't remember if it will...

No, I believe the jump from 1.17f to 1.21f rendered previous saves incompatible. There was a rule change in one of those patches. Might be 1.07f to 1.17f, or whatever the previous to 1.17f patch was.
