Heroes & Changing Religions

In my Patch "C" MP game last night I was playing Luchuirp and friend is playing as Grigori.

I founded RoK and have around 31% and moving foward. For some reason the Creation Map Script seems to favor desert for Luchuirp so there's tons of desert and plains near me.

Needless to say I want druids. With 3 cities on Prince I'm ahead of most of the AI and far ahead of my friend (who started right next to Barbatos)

I found OO just to change alignment and change back to RoK as soon as I can.

Now I of course lost Bambur, although I did get to keep my priests.

What I was curious about is this. Can we make it so heroes that are lost due to religion changes are able to be built again rather then being dead? Is this even possible?

If it isn't possible, then I think that they should really add events triggered when the owner of religious heroes (and maybe other units that abandon you) which give other civs that meet the unit's requirements to have the option to gain the unit (or maybe just randomly reassign it). That way, they would come with all their promotions, etc.

That's an interesting idea.

I find the ai, when it has a hero, tends to stick with the required religion for the hero rather than changing and losing the hero. However, the ai is great at getting heroes killed - sending them out alone for battles, etc.

It would be nice if you had ROK, for example, and the ai killed off Bumbur, you had a chance through an event to resurrect him.

The resurrect spell should be made able to bring back dead religious heroes of your state religion too, whether they were originally yours or not.

I would prefer it work by triggering an event that lets you choose what hero to resurrect from among the valid options. It might be good to create some option that would help the Grigori too though, since they lack both national and religious heroes.

Give the Grigori Reincarnation, which grants you an adventurer. It could only be used a number of times equal to the amount of heroes you've already lost.

The options list would also be nice for the Lanun, as they have 2 hero units and I imagine many people would rather rebuild The Black Wind than resurrect Guybrush.

For the Grigori it'd be nice if Resurrect were replaced with some appropriately named spell which allowed you to turn any standard Great Person into an Adventurer :)

I can imagine a series of events focused on religious heroes. Such as demanding the construction of a temple in the capital or else moving to another civ, or gaining leadership qualities similar to those of Great Commanders for Divine followers.

Regardless of this thread's original intent (and I do think that heroes, if not special units, should perhaps switch to other civs if there are some available with the right religion), I think the suggestion that there be hero centered events would add a tremendous amount of flavor to the game.
