I'm Maciej/Squonk/Heresson.

I used to make scenarios for Civ2 long, long time ago.

I would like to return to Civ2 (MGE). I had this emulator thing that was helping me, but then it malfunctioned and it stopped working. There is a site in the net that allows playing Civ2, but not scenarios, and it's faulty anyway. Can someone show me the way back to Civ2? I have the files for Civ2 MGE somewhere etc. But I need some way to make them work on my current laptop / Windows 11.

If you do still have a copy of a Civ2 MGE install on your computer then you just need to apply either FoxAhead's 64bit patch or his full Civ2UIA patch tool that includes the 64bit patch along with tons of other great stuff I highly recommend. If you want music and videos then you'll need a copy of the CD to either use directly or copy/rip them off. Civ2 supports the KINGS and VIDEO folder being copied off the CD into your install folder and the latest Civ2UIA supports ripped mp3s.

If you don't have your CD then unfortunately the rules of this site prohibit sharing of Civ2 abandonware download locations (including play in browser copies) however a google search for the MGE CD can usually net you what you're looking for pretty quickly. Also the folks over at the Civ2 Discord may be able to assist too as they're more open with their rules. Also please go and vote for Civ2 MGE to be added to GoG which would make things much easier for everyone!
