:egypt: hi im new

i own civ 2 is there any way you can modify civ2 so that it has a new civilzation in it?

i have some ideas:confused:

The Arabs and the Incas were both included as "spare" civs in the game, but you'll have to examine the .txt files to find them. In there, you can change the names of the civs, change the leader names and change city names. This will give you a new civ! :D For further questions on customisation you should ask at the Scenario creation forum on this site. There are loads of experts there and their .txt files often bear no relation to the one that comes with the game! :)

Welcome, o'brien! [party]

I once downloaded a Civ2 Tribe Editor that allows you to do what duke says without having to directly edit the .txt files. :groucho: The Tribe Editor uses a Windows interface.

Hey, everyone, is that utility available on this site? Should I upload it?

I like the tribe of Texans ;)......

BTW, welcome o'brien.

PS, before you edit your .txt file, copy them to a backup location, or zip them.... so you can easily restore them :).

i meant is there any way to add a civilization with its own specific technologys or units?:crazyeye:

Yes you can!
Ask in the Scenario Creation forum and the experts there will be able to give you some help doing this. It's going to be pretty tough making a Civ 3-style game with the Civ 2 engine, but you can have special units for the different civs. Just give each civ a different tech tree and make the units dependant on techs that the others won't have. This is how you can research the Katushya (sp?) rockets in Red Front, but not the Panzers.

how do i add units such as the dragon that i have picked as my picture? or how do i make my own units (HEHEHE) for example the Apache gunship? is there some sort of file that has to be changed like the O.D.Fs on Armada 2? (Object Definition File)

any way i looked in the text files and i backed them up
and iu changed the "no send him/her away" to "no tell him/here to F**K off!":crazyeye:

I see that you have posted a thread in the Scenario Creation forum to ask for help on how to create units for your game. No offense, but can I suggest that you direct all these questions to the real experts in that forum rather than to us, who are quite expert at Civ but not necessarily at changing the game for scenarios or modpacks. :D They're lovely people in that forum and will be glad to help you on your first steps in customisation! :goodjob:
