Hidden faction advantages?

I recently played as Yang an made an interesting discovery. Social engineering cannot bring his efficiency below 0. This is really valuable since it lets you choose both planned and police state without any negative consequences (aside from pretty much every other faction hating you for it).

I've looked around the forum enough to see that people already know about this and it isn't some grand discovery on my part. But what gets me is that I can't find anything in the datalinks or anywhere in the game that even hints at this advantage.

Are there other faction advantages that simply aren't recorded?
 
The Hive's immunity to inefficiency was added in a patch (see the readme file). That may explain why it's not mentioned in the datalinks. You can find it documented in hive.txt, though. Right off hand, can't think of any other such examples in the original game. Might be some in SMAX, however.
