High Scores

Do the settlers or engineers that you still have on the map at the end count toward your final score? Have I been wasting my time in the very last couple of turns before my spaceship arrives/the last enemy city falls by founding new cities and then filling them with "Add to city" engineers up to the maximum of eight so that I can improve my score?

I will forgive anyone who considers this lame, but I just reached my highest civ2 score ever. 16428 on King, and the year is 1825. The lame part is that I used my own custom map to allow for the greatest possible rapid expansion. You can see the save file at http://lenin.mypuke.com/glut1.sav
