When I finish a match, and the score screen pops up, i get an error message that reads like this:

Never heard of this one before. Does kind of sound like a compatibility problem where Civ2 is trying to use a portion of memory already in use by another program. You might try shutting down some "nonessential" TSR programs before completing your game.

Are you playing Classic, MP, or another version?

TSR stands for "Terminate and Stay Resident." Basically they are programs that will execute a series of operations, and after doing so, they remain in the computer's memory. On more recent versions of Windows, you can more or less access a list of those programs occupying "space" in the memory through the Windows Task Manager, Processes tab.

Well, unneeded, those are the only programs really needed to keep Windows running anyway.

If your problem is indeed due to a conflict with another program you might be able to pinpoint which program it is by selectively shutting down some of those tasks.
