I was under the impression multiplayer does not have war weariness but as i found out the hard way hotseat is apparently
not multiplayer because it definably has war weariness
so how come this is not in the manual or the strat guide or on the forums ?

I think the question is how did you get 'under the impression' that multiplayer doesn't have war weariness?

its a well known fact that there is no war weariness in multiplayer for balance reasons and the forums have all stated this dozens of times.....

I have not seen this in any of the threads on this forum. But then again, I don't read them all. Would you be kind enough to point me in the direction where this is pointed out?

I have seen it over the last few months in many forums
the last of these was in the War academy offline lessons
under the topic Classic Civilizations
C3C Bonus Disk Strategy Guides (8 MB) by Chieftess and Friedrich Psitalon

Im about to go to bed but next time im online for a few hours i shall seek out more of these for you .... also its in the manual somewhere.

i cut this for you
It can be important to remember that wars in multiplayer are very different than in single player for two reasons. The larger of these two reasons is that War Weariness is OFF in Multiplayer for very good, balance-related reasons. This means that wars for most governments are not as damaging to the economy of the civilizations involved as they would be in single player

That sounds rediculous. That means they would have to completely rebalance all governments because WW is supposed to be a balancing downside to powerful governments.

the kids and i play hotseat all the time..never knew there was supposed to be no ww.

if its suppose to be off, then i will keep it on :) i like the more realism in ww for hotseat games. i mean, come on ! if no ww, then why even have goverments at all, it would seem to me a very un-balanced game to be running demo\repub and have no restrictions even for multiplayer. wheres the fine art of keeping your cities inline when your sons gang up and attack you for 200 turns

For the record, there is ww in hotseat games. If ww is turned off for multiplayer, it would probably be for internet or LAN games.

I, also, have never experience WW in multiplayer games. That is, until the last game I played. I think it is toned down a bit in multiplayer. My freind and I were at war the entire game. He was a republic, I was a monarchy, then a democracy. I didn't suffer any war weariness until I mobilized for war under a democracy. He never experienced any ww.

Before, we could wage very long wars in democracy, even while mobilized, without any ww. Now, it appears they fixed that problem.

edit: these are LAN and internet games
