Hotkey or settings for "next action"

Coming from Civ IV, I found having to constantly click on "choose research", "move units", etc. quite annoying. Especially the tech list and research lists are all on the left of the screen. I found myself moving my cursor across the screen all the time. Does anyone know if there is a hotkey for that or is there a setting to "maximize pop-ups" like the "minimize pop-ups" in Civ IV?

Or if there is any trick to do the same thing more easily.

I have bound the hotkey for switching to next unit (think its called cycle_unit) to TAB and ending turn to SPACE.

That already makes turns a lot less clicky.

Aweather, you can shift click a tech down the tree and you will queue up the techs needed to research it. Or hold ctrl and click the order you want things researched. I felt like I clicked around less (or got interrupted by picking the next tech less frequently) when I figured that out.
