Hi all,

After reading some comments in another thread here (on switching to FF) I've decided to give Opera a try. Looks like stumble upon isn't available for Opera, so I might be a more productive while I'm trying it. ;)

Anyway, I haven't made my mind up as to whether I like it or not, but what would really make it worthwhile for me, is if the integrated mail-client could handle hotmail. I've tried hotmail-popper, but all it got was "negative vibes". If anyone has a good sollution, I'm all ears.

As a second thing, in the short time I've been using Opera, I've seen the error-console pop up quite a few times already.

M2 should be perfectly capable of handling hotmail, you just need to know the servers and ports required for setting it up.

IIRC Opera can be a bit overzealous about error messages. You can disable error logging entirely in Opera:config, and mine's been disabled for as long as I can recall.

I think the problem is that hotmail doesn't support POP, only with some old accounts. So you need a work a round. I managed to get HotmailPopper working, but I think I like Thunderbird better than the one in Opera. (I'm talking about the E-mail client within the browser).

I didn't really like to have to resort to a completely different program, and I found the layout of the e-mail part quite confusing. So for e-mail, I think Opera is done. Still giving it a shot as a browser though.

Hotmail doesn't even support POP3 anymore? Geez.

TBH I've not messed with M2 since Opera ver7, maybe earlier ver8 builds. Thunderbird probably is better overall unless M2's been improved significantly, but I prefer Outlook over all others.

i dont use opera mail, nether do i use hotmail anymore, now i use gmail. to me i find opera a pertty good browser, no matter what anyone says to me i would't go back to FF or IE. I also love it on my wii.

I must say: Opera is quite quick, but other than that I can't really see the advantage over Firefox. I've returned to using Firefox, simply because of that: It's just not worth the trouble getting used to a new browser.

It's mainly what you're used to. FF's interface is so clunky to me though, I can barely stand to use it.
