How addicted are you??

I find myself on these forums mor thatn I'm playing at the moment. My interest in the game hasn't declined, but it's just such a big effort to start a new game for me...

That is exactly it. I love this game with a passion, but unless I can dedicate 2- 4 hours at a pop, I just don't start playing. I usually only get that kinda time every couple of weeks or so.

I confess! I'm an addict. I think about Civ while I'm at work. I'm at work right now and if I can't play Civ, I'm here at the forums. During week nights, I play from 8pm to about 12mn and that's only when I remember to set the alarm!

When I first got the game I played it alot despite the many bugs. I wanted to see what they had done. But by the time January hit my interest began to decline. Probably mostly due to its inability to run properly. I may get interested again when/if the new patch solves anything. As it stands I havent played Civ 4 in about 1-2 months with no interest.

Hopefully, the patch will be released sometime this spring. But anymore, its of no real bother to me. I have other games that keep me more satisfied at the moment.

I picked up the game during a business trip and loaded it onto my laptop. I ended up playing it for most of the next three days in the hotel room, in the coffee shop, wherever I went, basically. I ended up getting no work done. That explains my addiction right there.

Man, I've played this game a lot. Have been playing since Civ I, and I always return when new versions are released...

As a mac user I don't have Civ4 yet, but I will say that I have likened the Civ series as addictive as a Heroine-cocaine-ecstacy cocktail shot directly into your brain with a crystal meth chaser.

Why do you think the classic "Just one more turn!!!" sounds like a phrase a junkie would say? Because it is!!!! :D

I'm hooked to a degree, but not badly compared to my prior addiction to EverQuest. It's much easily to just stop playing Civ4, especially since I'm only taking on single player games.

I'm hooked, but I still haven't pulled the classic Civ1 trick of going 'eh, another hour or so, then I'll go to bed' for a while, then wondering why it's all of a sudden so bright out.

I'm very addicted I just want to be able to win on noble/prince for the first time then i'll move up and get even more addicted.

Well, I have been playing since 1992 and played Railroad Tycoon before that. I hate to think about the total number of hours spent in that time. I think it would be too depressing a number

You rock raymondieee. Seriously, I wish I was born 10 years earlier so that I could have picked up civ1 when it first came out and played it from there on in. Oh well.

Anyways, I'm pretty addicted to.. uh, civ1. Don't know quite why I'm here.. So.. I'll just show myself out.

When Civ IV first came out it took up most of my spare time. But now it isn't even on my hard drive.
My game playing time is taken up with either Galactic Civ II or Oblivion - I do like the way that you can manage your mods with Oblivion.

I can't see a time when I'll get round to installing Civ IV again, maybe when the expansion comes out or maybe when (and if) the SDK is released to allow modders to make something to entice me back...?

You are not addicted until you develop either a lesion on your wrist or a callous from using the mouse too much. Has anyone had an intervention? You know, like with drunks - when the spouse and friend and employer all come and tell you that you are a drunk and need to get off the sauce?
