How can I enable sound in my school's comp?

Some computer rooms at my school have sound and some other rooms don't. All of the computers are basically dells so I was wondering how to enable sound on the ones that don't have it? When I go to sound and audio devices in control panel I get a gray window which means I can edit or modify anything. So can anybody help me to enable headphone sound in these comps?

Looks like there aren't any audio devices in device manager... which means you'll have to install drivers for it..

or it could be just disabled.

if there are no drivers, then basically, you're out of luck, since you need admin privvies to install them. In short, use another comp if you want sound.

How can I know how to find which sound card is used just by looking at the comp so I can go to manufacturers website and dl drivers? Though I'm afraid that stickciv may be right about the disabled sound.

I dont think you really can. If its a dell though, looking up the drivers for that specific model will probably give you the name of the sound card since dells most often, unless its a high end pc, have no choice for the sound card

You were right though, I can't enable sound on some PCs in some rooms.
