How do I convert Civ II Scenarios to TOT?

Hiya! First Post.

Anyway, I can't play Civ II anymore because No DOS based games will play on my PC, but TOT does work, and I was wondering if there was a way to play regular scenarios, particularly the Fading Lights Byzantium Scenario in TOT. I'd need explicit directions though cause I'm unfamilar doing stuff like this. Thanks.

You need to run CivConverter 1.4 by Angelo Scotto. You can download it here:

It is a command line utility. I am not sure if that is the same as DOS though?

It is a little tricky to get the hang of. I had to spend about 45 mins trying different things before I got it to work!

What version of CivII are you playing and which operating system are you using?

I have got CivII to work on Win98, XP and Vista. As far as I know ToT very similar to normal CivII, you can run ToT using the vanilla games disc once it is installed! Might be easier to find out what is wrong with CivII before going to all the hustle of converting scenarios!

I am no expert so technical queries are probably best left to Mercator, Catfish or someone who knows computer thingies

Well don't ask me how, but I got my original Civ II game to work. And you are right, converting to TOT is a big pain in the butt. Thanks though!
