How do I find out what's crashing my mod?

I'm willing to bet this tale of woe is one that many of you will be familiar with.

I thought that it would be fun to build a mod based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I happily created a folder to hold my new PCX and FLC files, my Modified Txt files, created my .biq etc.

Now, when I try to alpha test it, it runs for a couple dozens game turns and then crashes. But the only info I get is that civ stopped working and windows will look for a solution to the problem.

Surely there is a way to generate a report that will tell me what the program tried to do that I've somehow jacked up. Would some kind soul please point me in the proper direction?

Well sometimes you just have to do some trial and error. What were you doing at the time? What do you think the AI was trying to do at the time? Are there any edits that you made that could of caused a problem? Is there anything that you made a mistake on?

Thanks Nathiri, I appreciate the reply. After several hours of playing and saving after every turn to try to narrow down what is causing the crash I discovered that one of the mp3 files I loaded as background music was broken. every time it tried to play that file it crashed the game. I still wish there was some way of looking at what command the program executed last. or failed to execute. In any case, I hope to get this mod working and uploaded sometime around the first week of August.
