How do i make a mod?

I've had this idea of making a pirates of the carribean mod but i really need help i know what to do go to world builder but i need some help with more advanced things like how do i add new units new terrian type and everything also i would like to add my own pictures and would really like some help with that plz respond and tell me how if u know. I wish it was easy like in civ 3...bye mates

Read some of the articles here in the C&C forum. The world builder only deals with maps. To mod units, terrain, graphics, etc, you need pretty good knowledge of XML, Python and/or SDK. Here is a good place to start.

My XML editor makes it a little easier to do things like adding units. Just use the link in my signature if you're interested. It would still be a good idea to follow the advise above and read some articles on the subject first.
